The most beautiful beaches are here...
For lovers of small or expansive beaches, the greatest difficulty will be in the choice: praia de Armona, and praia da Culatra and praia do Farol (which are on the same island and can be walked between). These three beaches are accessible by ferry from the dock just a few minutes from Casa Amor. And don't forget praia da Cacela Velha at the foot of the charming village, praia de Faro for its sunset, praia da Falésia for its beautiful cliffs, praia do Barril and its small train... You have a rendevous with protected nature, clear waters and the immensity of sandy beaches – even in summer you can find solitude!
A region to (re)discover...
Olhão and the Eastern Algarve (Sotavento) offer much more than beaches. Faro deserves more than a plane stop, its old town is worth a visit. Tavira will seduce you with its amazing roofs, Vila Real de Santo António will surprise you with its military architecture, not to mention Estoi and its Roman ruins, Loulé and its market with surprising architecture, not to mention golf courses and festivals! And in the middle of all this, Olhão which we chose for its authenticity, its central position, and its fish market where the great chefs meet. Olhão, the cubic city, the capital of the Ria Formosa, lives all year round and offers everyone the opportunity to take a break. Be careful, you may well give in to its charm... and decide in your turn to settle here.
